Srinagar, March 11 (KNO) : Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Coordination Committee (JKCSCC) on Monday said that it has challenged the recent Presidential ordinance amending Article 35A. “The writ petition before SC asking to quash the order has been accepted and would most likely be heard on March 25,” Awami National Conference (ANC) Senior Vice President and JKCSCC member, Muzaffar Ahmad Shah said. He was addressing a presser here in Srinagar. According to KNO correspondent, Shah said that JKCSCC on behalf of people of Jammu and Kashmir has filed a writ petition before the apex court of India. "The recent presidential order is an attack on Article 370." Shah said that 41 amendments have been done in the past. "Since there is no elected government in the State and passing this order at this juncture is tantamount to an attack on the Article 35A and was not legally correct," Shah said. According to Shah it seems the Article 370 and 35A will also be attacked like the way this ordinance was passed. He urged all the mainstream political parties, separatist camp, Bar Association and Civil Society to join hands at this time to fight against the move.(KNO)
